This voyage is a series of firsts for Source Journeys: a new itinerary and one of our most requested destinations. We begin in Malta, a country steeped in history and stunning beauty and named the most welcoming LGBTQ+ country in the world! Two new destinations for Source Journeys included in this experience are Sicily and Tunisia, as well as the beloved Amalfi, culminating in the vibrant streets of Naples. Each city, from the eclectic streets of Palermo to the tranquil island of Lipari, has been carefully selected to provide an unforgettable experience.

JUL 05 Malta – Valletta

Our voyage begins aboard the Atlas Ocean Voyages World Navigator, setting sail from the historic port of Valletta, Malta. Arrive early and enjoy an optional pre-cruise extension in Malta. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, this city, steeped in breathtaking architecture and timeless streets, provides a majestic backdrop to the beginning of our shared voyage. Valletta is a fortress city adorned with baroque architecture where you can witness the splendor of Grand Harbor. Immerse yourself in the rich history of the Knights of Malta and visit one of their palaces. St. John’s Cathedral and Museum houses two masterpieces by Caravaggio. Beyond the cultural treasures, indulge in the crystal-clear blue waters surrounding the archipelago, providing a stunning backdrop for relaxation. Malta’s vibrant gay nightlife adds a modern flair, and the nearby island of Gozo promises enchanting landscapes and historical charm. Arrival Airport Malta (MLA) International airport.

JUL 06: Porto Empedocle – Italy

The historic port of Porto Empedocle, a coastal gem on the southern shores of Sicily.
Explore the rich history and vibrant culture of this Sicilian jewel. The ruins of ancient Akragas in the nearby Valley of the Temples are an awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site boasting some of the best-preserved ancient Greek ruins in the Mediterranean. Or just stroll through quaint streets lined with authentic Italian eateries along the picturesque waterfront, savoring the authentic Sicilian atmosphere.

JUL 07: LaGoulette – Tunis

In Tunis, embrace the exotic allure of North Africa. Here, in this historic port, you are greeted by a blend of Mediterranean charm and rich Tunisian heritage. Wander through bustling medinas, where the scents of spices and the vibrant colors of artisanal crafts create an enchanting atmosphere. Discover the allure of ancient Carthage, where remnants of a once-great civilization echo through captivating landscapes. Discover archaeological marvels, including the Baths of Antoninus and the Punic Ports, each telling tales of Tunisia’s rich past. Tunis is the heart of Tunisian culture, with opportunities to savor traditional cuisine and perhaps even partake in a local tea ceremony.

JUL 08: Day at Sea

A day of pure leisure and luxury aboard the Atlas Ocean World Navigator. As we glide through the Mediterranean, our ship becomes a sanctuary of relaxation and enjoyment. Join us by the pool for a refreshing dip or a cocktail, enjoying the soft touch of the sea breeze. The onboard spa awaits those seeking a touch of indulgence, while our T-dance promises daytime laughter and great music. For a blend of leisure and learning, sunrise yoga and an afternoon lecture offers the perfect balance. This day is yours to shape as you wish – whether you’re in the mood for energetic activities or a tranquil retreat, our day at sea caters to every preference.

JUL 09: Palermo

Palermo is the dynamic capital of Sicily. Encounter an eclectic blend of history and modernity. This city is captivated by its unique cultural heritage, evident in landmarks like the opulent Capella Palatina, a symbol of historical confluence. Explore the world-renowned Opera House where scenes from Godfather 3 were filmed. Taste authentic Sicilian treats at the bustling Ballarò market or relax at at Mondello, one of Sicily’s most beautiful beaches. Palermo’s streets are a canvas of history, where every turn offers a glimpse into its rich past, from the ornate facades of ancient buildings to the serene beauty of the Orto Botanico, one of Europe’s oldest botanical gardens.

JUL 10: Lipari

The enchanting island of Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian Islands. This picturesque paradise, surrounded by the azure waters of the Mediterranean, is a haven of natural beauty and serene landscapes. Lipari offers a unique blend of quaint cafes and historic sites like the Lipari Castle, a testament to the island’s rich past. The island’s volcanic origins and ancient history are on display at the Aeolian Archaeological Museum. Whether you choose to relax on the pristine beaches, explore the rugged terrain, or indulge in a Wine Tour, Lipari offers a tranquil escape, allowing you to connect with nature and each other in a setting of awesome beauty.

JUL 11: Amalfi

Welcome to the jewel of the Italian coastline and the birthplace of the Knights of Malta. Amalfi is a favorite destination among our travelers, and it never fails to enchant with its dramatic cliffs, vibrant terraced gardens, and sparkling blue waters. Here, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, you can visit the magnificent Amalfi Cathedral, which holds the remains of St. Andrew the Apostle. Explore the historical Arsenal of the Maritime Republic, where echoes of Amalfi’s naval power resonate. Then, for a touch of nature’s tranquility, you can venture to the nearby town of Ravello, the site of Villa Cimbrone. Ravello offers breathtaking views that have inspired artists and writers through the ages.

JUL 12: Naples

Our voyage culminates in the vibrant city of Naples, where we’ll offer an optional post-cruise stay. Its lively streets and rich history allow you to explore an ancient and eternally young city. Wander through the historic center, marveling at the intricate architecture and lively atmosphere. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Pompeii or Herculaneum as well as the renowned National Archaeological Museum. The opulent Royal Palace showcases the city’s royal past. Naples is also a haven for foodies, famed for being the birthplace of pizza.

Please Note: Prices are per person based on double occupancy. Does not include international airfare, trip cancellation insurance, shipboard purchases, gratuities, pre and post-cruise packages, or optional shore excursions. The following additional fees apply based on double occupancy: Port fees and taxes of $349 and prepaid gratuities of $150. A deposit of $750 per person is required to secure a stateroom. If imposed by the cruise line, there may be an $100 per passenger fuel surcharge fee.
